Thanks for the request, Syed and Inspiration.
No offence to you Syed.
I'd like you to read a thread a found
here. <-- A mistake made by someone in Malaysia that might just kill the
SEO industry in Malaysia. He highlighted how a Malaysian
SEO guy is trying to sell a book, and then did it very badly.
In layman's terms:
SEO is a kind of programming science whereby you'd change page CODINGS (on your HTML - Hypertext Markup Language) to make search engine robots (like Google, Yahoo and MSN) to easily crawl your site and index them in their search engine.
The thing is,
SEO can bring you high ranking (Good practices), and the growing trend of search engines brought
SEO up to a new level where people can also understand that ranking = visibility = hits = conversion.
But,
SEO is much more complicated and requires thorough insight on each and every optimization element (sorry I'm a bit technical), so it actually gives value to work on the project in long-term WITH professionals as opposed to newbies who'd reluctantly drop out on the
SEO topic because when they get deeper into it, it actually kills their spirit (reason: too complicated, too fast growing, always changing and loads of SPAM)
SEO falls under the category of SM (Search Marketing), which comprises of (Search Marketing) = ((Search Engine Marketing)) + ((Search Engine Optimization)) and ((Online Marketing)).
There are more to it than just
SEO. And I hope you guys Google it or visit Google Blogs or any other foreign
SEO sites to gain better insight on the current trend. In the US, it's almost a saturated market. In Malaysia, it's new, therefore, repeating the same mistakes these US guys did almost 10 years ago.
=)
